Recreating tutus - Spring 2014
Originally designed by Barbara Karinska for the premiere of George Balanchine's Divertimento No. 15, circa 1956 we recreated these tutus piece by piece for Ballet Chicago. It was an incredible project to be apart of. My focus was creating the 13 tutu overlays, with satin trimmed horse hair, handmade silk bows, embellished with Swarovski crystals. Our beautiful bodices were constructed by Jordan Kiehle.
